When implementing the objectives of the project ‘LIFE Pieniny PL’, on 02.06.2014 the monitoring of Reynoutria sachalinensis and Reynoutria japonica was conducted along a stretch of River Dunajec in Pieniny National Park.Tuesday, 01 July 2014
Monitoring was conducted over a length of 11 km from the harbour in Sromowce Niżne to Zawiesy (Krościenko-Piaski). A borrowed raft was used to observe the banks of the River Dunajec for the presence of the invasive species. These were then counted, measured, recorded and carefully removed. Three people conducted the monitoring and two people guided the raft. A total of 713 pieces of Reynoutria japonica and 6 pieces Reynoutria sachalinensis were found at the different locations. The task will be executed in the following years.
